Ciao from Vatican City!

Well, we arrived safely Tuesday around noon in Rome. We took a quick nap then headed out to pick up our papal audience tickets at the Pontifical North American College.  Afterwards we did a little shopping and a little sight seeing and then had dinner and returned to the hotel to catch up on our jet lag. This morning we are sitting in the piazza in front of St. Peters waiting for the papal audience to begin. The weather is glorious! Having never been to a large religious gathering, I think Brannon will find this experience interesting. :-) They are expecting about 10,000 people today. We've positioned ourselves along the outer perimeter of the first section so hopefully we will have a good view when the pope drives by in his pipe mobile. Unfortunately there isn't anyone with a baby near us or else our chances of his coming really close to us would be greater. I'll let you know how it goes...
