So my friend Meredith finally got me to try yoga. And not just any yoga, mind you, but hot yoga. The temperature in the room is kept around 98F and the humidity is at 60%. So you really sweat. A lot. I started with a 90 minute class just to see what it's like and then took the two 90 minute introductory classes they offer to really learn the postures and procedures involved. And I LOVE it.
This practice isn't focused so much on the emotional or spiritual side of yoga, but more just the physical - the strength and flexibility building. They don't discount or ignore the other benefits, but they let the other facets play more of a background role. I am really looking forward to trying out their other classes and adding two days of yoga into my weekly workout routine.
Yes, it's kind of dorky to be this excited about yoga, I know. But I'm an accountant - I specialize in dorky. Just deal with it. :-P
