Sailing in the BVI - Sunday & Monday

We arrived yesterday morning in Tortola via a really small plane from Puerto Rico. We then took a taxi from the airport to Nannu Cay Marina where we picked up the boat that will be our home for the next 12 days. It is a 47 foot Bavaria Vision. It has three cabins, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a salon. And more importantly, it has air conditioning! (We did not have A/C on our last BVI excursion.) It was so late in the day by the time we left the marina, we ended up motoring to the Bight on Norman Island to spend the night.

This morning we woke up, had breakfast and started our first sail. We went through the Peter Island Passage and moored in Great Harbor by lunch time. We spent a few hours after lunch swimming and snorkeling by the boat and then took the dinghy to the beach to play on the sand, swim and snorkel some more. We are just finishing dinner at Oceans 7 on the island. We had a delicious meal of fried calamari, grilled mahi mahi, steak and tuna. Not sure what the plans are yet for tomorrow - we are kind of winging it depending on the wind and how we are feeling. I'm pretty sure it will involve swimming and a beach though! 😉

I will try emailing some pictures to the blog in a separate post.
