Sailing in the BVI - Saturday & Sunday

We arrived in Anegada yesterday morning after a few hours of sailing in the open ocean. The wind was a solid 20 knots with gusts up to 32 knots - at one point Brannon had the boat speed at 10 knots. That is very fast for a 47 foot boat! Overall, the trip was very pleasant but very rolly in the waves.

We took the dinghy to shore and made our reservations for two lobster dinners that evening. The lobsters are hanging out in a large trap by the dock as you walk ashore and a few hours later you have them for dinner. We then explored the various gift shops down the street and walked a mile or so exploring the island. The kids were "soooo tired!" of waking, so we rented a car to explore further. The car is right hand drive and you drive on the left side is the road, but Brannon has gotten very good at driving in foreign places.

We stopped to explore Loblolly Bay for a bit and then headed back into town for dinner. The lobster was delicious - Madeleine and Charlotte were not big fans though. James however, ate 3/4 of a lobster all by himself!

This morning we headed back to the island to do some more exploring. We spent most of the morning and afternoon at Cow Wreck Beach. The kids had fun playing in the surf (it is very shallow and stays shallow far out from shore) and they even found some friends from Anegada to play with.

We are headed back to the boat shortly to spend the night and leave early tomorrow morning for Great Camanoe Island.
