Mom, you are NOT listening to me!

In the past few months Charlotte's vocabulary has really started to grow.  Her most commonly used words are: yes, no, eat, more, up, night-night, bottle, blankie, and diapey (her word for diaper).  For example, when her diaper is full, she says "diapey, diapey" while pointing at the offending object.  Today she let me know that she needed to be changed... "diapey, daipey!"  I was in the middle of doing something, so I acknowledged that I had indeed heard her and let her know we would go change her diaper in just a minute.  Apparently, she wanted to be changed right away because she went to the cabinet and got down a new diaper, the box of wipes and the changing mat.  She proceeded to take the mat over to the bottom of the stairs where she laid it out and then laid down on it, holding the clean diaper.  I guess next time I really should do a better job of listening to her!
