Greetings from Canada

Hello from Vancouver, BC! We arrived late (very late due to a delayed flight) last night and have set up camp at our friend Al & Sandra's apartment. Meanwhile, they are staying at our house in Dallas - their apartment is tiny and would be hard pressed to hold four adults and three kids for a week. The kids are loving it! They love small spaces and the view of Granville Island with the mountains behind it is amazing. They are taking turns on where they sleep. Last night Madeleine slept on the twin mattress on the floor of Al's office while James slept in the coach in the living room. Tonight they switched. Charlotte has her own little sleeping corner on the floor in the master bedroom with us.

Today we spent the day on Granville Island. Due to our late arrival (we finally got in bed around midnight Vancouver time which was 2am Dallas time), our morning got off to a late start. Not too late though - James and Madeleine were both up fairly early, rushing in to tell us about the mountains and buildings around us. They were having so much fun playing in the apartment, we could hardly convince them to get dressed to go outside and do some exploring.

The weather was great today - a bit chilly but not too cold. We spent a lot of time at the Kids Market (a mall with 28 toy stores!) and played a bit outside on one of the playgrounds. Charlotte did not get a very good nap and everyone else was also tired so we headed back to the apartment for dinner, baths, and an early bedtime.

I have no idea what we have planned for tomorrow. I'll try to post a few pictures along with another update. Until then...
