Seattle: Day 2

On Sunday morning I went on a sight-seeing run with City Running Tours. Our guide was great - he knew lots about the history of the city and its architecture. Here are a few pictures from my run:

Public fountain that is example of Brutilist style of architecture

Famous alley with gum all over the walls - gross

A view of the shoreline looking back towards the city from the pedestrian path along the shore

While I was on my run, Brannon, his parents and the kids visited a toy store. We then met up by Pikes Market to visit the original Starbucks, grab some donuts and walk around a bit. We also visited a German deli and James scored he and his sisters each a free Weiner because he showed the clerk his German soccer team shirt.  Madeleine took this picture of a bird in the park that overlooks Peuget Sound while we drank our coffee and hot chocolate.

We then visited the Seattle Center for a trip to the Chihuly Exhibit and the Space Needle.

We ate lunch at a pizza place in the Armory. The Armory has been repurposed to house a food court in the upper levels and the Children's Museum on the lower level.

Madeleine commandeered my phone to take pictures in the Chihuly Exhibit. All of these sculptures are made of blown glass. They were amazing!

Madeleine and Charlotte decided to play a game where they pretended to use their magic to make the glass sculptures grow.

Charlotte used a lot of magic.

It was pretty overcast when the finally made it up to the top of the Space Needle, so we couldn't see very far. The sun also set while we were up there so the view of the city lights at night was nice, but it didn't photograph very well.

We did get the free photo with the background photoshopped in though. Not sure why Charlotte is making that face though.
