Girls' Day at the Barn
Madeleine did not have school all this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday, so I really wanted to do something special with just her while the other two were in school. James had a half day today and they were celebrating Grandparents' Day at his school, so I arranged to have my parents pick him up from school and take him to lunch. Charlotte was supposed to go to Mother's Day Out, but of course since I had made a bunch of plans for the other two kids, she woke up sick this morning. Plan B for they day involved taking the girls to see Aunt JeanMarie and ride her horse Davy at the barn. This was Charlotte's first time on a horse and she showed absolutely no fear! Both girls thoroughly enjoyed walking Davy around the arena. Madeleine even "jumped" a few fences for the first time. And I got up on the horse after a 20+ year hiatus. It was very clear that Davy knew I had no idea what I was doing! He did great with everyone though - JM should be very proud of her boy!! Despite the change in plans, I think everyone had a great time and made some wonderful memories.
