Our Little Singer

Charlotte had her much-anticipated holiday program today. The play was about Frosty the Snowman, but the program director incorporated Frozen into the play and so there was a cameo by Olaf and Charlotte got to sing "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" with her friends. She did a great job and most importantly, seemed to have a lot of fun.

Christmas Parties

'Tis the season for Christmas parties!

First we hosted the 3rd grade girls mother/daughter party and ornament exchange. The girls decorated cookies, exchanged ornaments and received their marching charms that they've been collecting every year since kindergarten.

Then we attended James' Christmas program at school for grades K-2. His class sang the accompanying songs to the play performed by 2nd grade.

Yesterday were the class Christmas parties at CKS. Each class had a craft/game and snack to celebrate.

James' class also performed the Christmas story for their parents. James had the role of Joseph and he did a great job!

The kids are sooooo ready for Christmas break to begin!!

A Christmas Carol

On Saturday, we took the Marlowe's and the kids to a production of A Christmas Carol at the Dallas Theater Center. It was James and Charlotte's first time to see the play and Charlotte's first time to see a live performance. M warned her siblings that the ghost of Christmas past is pretty scary, but in this production they all agreed that the ghost of Jacob Marley was the scariest. Charlotte had a lot of questions throughout the play, but I think she enjoyed it. I must say I've seen A Christmas Carol many, many times and this was my favorite production by far!

Thanksgiving 2014

We had a great time with family last Thursday and gave thanks for our many blessings. Including JM, who orchestrated our annual family photo.
